Family
Tree - Tracing your Family History.
After you have put together all of the information that you had known, and
have learnt from your living relatives, you need to put together a sketch/diagram
of what information you already know. This sketch of your family tree (or
lineage) may look something like the one
below
at
this
stage.
Of course
you know
your
own
details,
and you
will
probably know those of your parents. From that generation on things may
not be so well known to you. The people on the left hand side of this sketch
are your paternal (father's) side, and on the right hand side are your
maternal (mother's) side. So it is armed with this diagram that you will
go on to the next stage in tracing your family history. The information
you will discover is what will make your family tree grow from one or two
pages to many.
